River A fresh water flowing across the surface of the land, usually to the sea.
Source Place where the river begins.
Confluence Point where a river joins a larger one.
Tributary A stream or river that joins a larger river.
Flood Plain Area that gets covered with water when the river floods.
Estuary Part of the river mouth that is tidal.
River Basin The land that water flows across or under on its way to a river.
Delta A fan-shaped are found at the mouth of the river.
Mouth Place where the river enters the sea.
The Stages of a River Youth, Maturity and Old Age (also) Upper course, Middle course and Lower course.
River Erosion Hydraulic Action, Abrasion, Solution and Attrition.
River Transportation Rolling (Traction), Bouncing (Saltation), Suspension, Solution.
River Deposition Rivers deposit or drop their load when the being to slow down and lose energy.
