Opiate Antagonist Reversal of CNS depressant effect of an opiate
Opiate Partial Agonist Their action depends on whether an opiate agonist has been administered.
Prostaglandin Inhibitor Synthetic non-opiate analgesic
Salicylates Most common analgesics used for relief of moderate pain, does not alter sedation level
NSAIDs Non-steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs
Naproxen NSAID Give with food, pain assessment before and after administration, risk for GI bleed
Naloxone Antagonist Give for someone who is having respiratory distress or overdose of opiate, fast- acting

Celebrex NSAIDs Give with food, pain assessments, risk for GI bleeds
Acetaminophen Prostaglandin Inhibitor Causes gastric irritation, antipyretic, hepatoxicity 4g MAX/24 hours
