What is the earth’s crust made up of? Tectonic plates
What are the two types of tectonic plates? Oceanic and continental
What is the name for where plates meet? Plate boundaries or margins
How does volcanoes occur? By magma escaping onto the surface
How does earthquakes occur? By the plates grinding past each other
What are traits of the oceanic crust? Thinner and heavier, gets destroyed at margins and is newer
What are traits of the continental crust? Makes up the land we live on, thicker but lighter, does not get destroyed and is older (Billions of years old)
