Think Win-Win

TermDefinition
Win-Lose "I'm going to beat you no matter what." *Always try to get ahead of others, proud. Can't when unless other people lose.
Lose-Win "I always get stepped on." *You're insecure, and not brave enough to stick up for yourself.
Lose-Lose "If I'm going down, you're going down with me" If you can't win, nobody wins. You get revenge.
Win-Win Everyone wins together, and ready to walkaway before someone loses.
Courage win for win or no deal, ready to walk away before someone loses, including yourself. *Takes proactive patience
Consideration win for win or no deal, ready to walk away before someone loses, including yourself. *Takes proactive patience
Do Small Acts of Kindness Treat people with kindness. *Opposite: the withdrawal-to be unkind, discourteous, disrespectful
Keep Promises It is important to keep your word, which shows value. *Trust and your person will be unvalued.
Keep Confidences Make sure not to spread information that was told in confidence. *It can get you in serious trouble.
Be Loyal to the Absent Avoid gossiping or backbiting. *Stick up for people who are not there to defend themselves.
Set Clear Expectations Don't leave things fuzzy or in the grey area. *Communicate the task and follow through with what is expected."
Apologize Admit you were wrong. Ex. "That was unkind of me, I apologize." *Making excuses instead of making things better turns into a even bigger withdrawal."
Forgive Learn to forgive and forget so you won't keep hurting yourself, the way you were hurt. *Don't let yesterday hold your tomorrow hostage."
