Win-Lose | low in consideration and high in courage |
Lose-Win | high in consideration but low in courage |
Lose-Lose | low in both consideration and courage |
Win-Win | high in both consideration and courage |
Make Deposits in Other People's EBAs | make deposits of kindness and helpfulness into other people's Emotional Bank Accounts. When I do this, it's easier to make new friends and build strong relationships |
Find Out What a Deposit Is for the Other Person | what you think may be a deposit to someone can may in fact be a withdrawal in their mind. You won't know unless you find out |
Do Small Acts of Kindness | be kind to others, make connections, treat people with kindness |
Keep Promises | Nothing bankrupts the EBA faster. It is important to make good on your word. Be careful using the words "I promise" or "I commit" |
Keep Confidences | when someone shares something with you in confidence, keep it that way |
Be Loyal to the Absent | Avoid gossiping or backbiting |
Set Clear Expectations | Don't leave things fuzzy |
Apologize | If you're in the wrong admit it now. Don't wait |
Forgive | Learn to forgive and forget do that you don't keep hurting yourself the way you were hurt |
Rule 1 for Making Deposits | A deposit is only a deposit if the other person sees it as one |
Rule 2 for Making Deposits | It can take one or more deposits to make up for one withdrawal |
