| prescribe (V) | to say what medicine or treatment a sick person should have |
| virus (N) | a very small living thing that causes infectious illnesses |
| unfortunately (adv) | used when you are mentioning a fact that you wish was not true |
| overuse (V) | to use something too much, especially so that it is not effective anymore or it is damaged |
| misuse (V) | to use something for the wrong purpose, or in the wrong way, often with harmful results |
| survive (V) | to continue to live after an accident, war, or illness |
| thrive (V) | to become very successful or very strong and healthy |
| traits (N) | a particular quality in someone’s character or a characteristic of a thing |
| emerging (adj) | in an early state of development |
| insist (V) | to demand that something should happen |
| delay (V) | to wait until a later time to do something |
| recover (V) | to get better after an illness, accident, shock etc |
