Soma Cell body
Dendrites Branching extensions from the cell body -serve as input sites where signals are received from other neurons
Axon major extension of the cell body
semipermeable membrane cell membrane that allows smaller molecules or molecules without an electrical charge to pass through it, while stopping larger or highly charged molecules
Myelin sheath fatty substance that insulates the major extension of the cell body
Terminal buttons cell body terminal containing synaptic vesicles
