TermDefinition
Credit What a student earns for completing/passing a class. Students receive 1 credit for a course that lasts all year, 1/2 credit for a semester long class.
Course Another word for class.
Diploma Certificate that represents completion of a program of study.
Elective A course that is not required but can be chosen by students if they are interested in the class.
Graduation Requirements Standards that must be met in order to receive a diploma.
Advanced Placement Classes Accelerated and more challenging classes.
Freshman 9th grade year. How you are classified in high-school.
Sophomore 10th grade year.
Junior 11th grade year.
Senior 12th grade year.
Prerequisite A course that is required before another course can be taken.
Smart Core Arkansas' college and career ready curriculum for high school students.
GPA Grading system that averages your grades to determine how well you preform(ed) in all your classes.
Transcript Complete representation of a students academic record. (official grades)
