high school vocab
| Term | Definition |

| credit | what a student earns for completing or passing a class. if you pass one of your classes you get 1 credit. |
| course | another word for class. try to take a course you know will be challenging so you can grow. |
| diploma | certificate that represents completion of program of study getting my diploma will be very rewarding |
| elective | a course that is not required but can be chosen by students if they are interested in the class. you have a lot of elective options in high school |
| graduation requirements | standards that must be met in order to receive diploma i hope to meet all the graduation requirements by the end of high school |
| advanced placement classes | accelerated and more challenging classes i don't think i will have advanced placements classes. |
| freshman | how you are classified in school i will be a freshman next year |
| sophomore | 10th grade year being a sophmore you have more elective options |
| junior | 11th grade year when youre a junior you should start thinking about collage |
| senior | 12th grade year when your'e a senior you have less classes |
| perquisite | a course that is required before another course can be taken |
| smart core | Arkansas's collage and career ready curriculum for high school students |
| gpa | grading system that represents that averages your grades to determine how well you performed in all your classes its important to have a high gpa to get into a good collage |
| transcript | complete representation of a students acedemic record' transcripts stick with you for life |
