| Term | Definition |

| Beneficence | Doing what is best for the patient |
| Fidelity | Do not lie |
| Utilitarianism | Doing the greatest good for greatest number of people |
| Laws | Regulations established by government that apply to a country or community |
| Nonmaleficence | Do no harm |
| Autonomy | The patient gets to decide what is done to them |
| Deontology | Obligation to perform duty no matter what the circumstances might be |
| Bioethics | Study of ethical dilemmas surrounding advancements in bioscience |
| Veracity | The obligation to tell the truth |
| Fidelity | Being true to your promises |
| Morals | Accepted customs or rituals that guide a society or individual |
| Ethics | Science of rightness and wrongness |
| Justice | Fair and equitable distribution of healthcare resources. It is ethical or not |
