Elements of Drama
| Term | Definition |

| Cast of Characters | List of people, animals, or things who are characters in a play. Their name is followed by a (:) |
| Script | Written words of the play for the actors. Contains the dialogue and stage directions. |
| Stage Directions | words that tell you about the scene/setting and tells the characters or descriptions. They are in [brackets] or (parenthesis) |
| Playwright | The person who wrote the play |
| Acts | Large sections of the play (think of chapters in a book) |
| Scenes | Smaller sections of the play, when the setting changes |
| Props | the items used by the actors in the play |
| Dialogue | Conversations between the characters |
| Theater | where the play is performed |
| Narrator | A special character outside of the story who tells us (the audience) what is happening in the story |
| Protagonist | The main character, usually the "good" guy |
| Antagonist | the "bad" guy in the play/ the villian |
