MAIN POINT I can enrich my life experience by valuing the differences in people.
SYNERGY / SYNERGIZE Interdependence is better than independence. You can do better working with others than working alone. Strength and weaknesses can weigh each other out to make a good team.
NEGATIVE SYNERGY This is made up of hostility, defensiveness, and hardly any compromise. When people work great by themselves but not so well with others.
POSITIVE SYNERGY Compromise or think "win-win", working with others in order to achieve the end goal by both parts bringing something to the table.
SIX "GAINS" OF DIVERSITY Expand global awareness, enhances social development, prepares students for future career success, increase your knowledge base, promotes creative thinking, and enhances self-awareness.
MODULE 16 MAIN POINT Go for 3rd alternative I can use synergy to get to a new and better solution to any problem.
2ND ALTERNATIVE THINKING (NOT GOOD) Thinking in terms of 2 sides, my strength against yours.
3RD ALTERNATIVE (VERY GOOD) 3rd alternative is used best when its being looked for, for example finding a solution with a common goal for everyone. This is the most useful way to solve important problems.
STEPS TO A 3RD ALTERNATIVE Step1: define the problem, Step2: listen to their views, Step3: share your views, Step4: brainstorm, Step5: create the best solution.
THE END GOAL/ ACHIEVEMENT Effective solutions to your problems, excitement and passion for projects, better relationships and greater learning and more appreciation for the in the people around you.
