Terms in Habit 4: Think Win-Win
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Win-Lose | Being too proud, high on courage, and low on consideration. Trying to get ahead of others or be better than other people. Ex: "I'm going to beat you no matter what." |
| Lose-Win | Being low on courage and high on consideration, having a permanent victim mentality and always looking for sympathy. Ex: "Poor me!" |
| Lose-Lose | Envying and criticizing others, putting other people and yourself down. Ex: "If I'm going down, you're going down with me." |
| Win-Win or No Deal | Balancing courage and consideration by helping others feel good and for you to feel good too. Ex: "We're going to win together." |
| Deposit | Something that helps the relationship. Ex: Treating people with kindness and kept promises. |
| Withdrawal | Something that hurts the relationship. Ex: Being unkind and broken promises. |
| Keep Confidences | When someone shares something with you in confidence, keep it that way. |
| Be Loyal to the Absent | Speak up for those who cannot defend themselves. |
| Set Clear Expectations | When you say you are going to do something, follow through. |
| Apologize | If you're in the wrong, admit it. Don't Wait! |
| Forgive | Learning to forgive and to forget. |
