TermDefinition
Credit What a student earns for completing/passing a class, Students receive 1 credit for a course that lasts all year, 1/2 credit for a semester long class.
Course Another word for class.
Diploma Certificate that represents completion of a program of study.
Elective A course that in not required but can be chosen by students if they are interest in the class,
Graduation requirements Standards that must be met in order to receive a diploma
Advanced placement classes accelerated and more challenging classes.
Freshmen 9th grade year, how you are classified in high school.
Sophomore 10th grade year
Junior 11th grade year
senior 12th grade
prerequisite a course that is required before another course can be taken

GPA Grading system that represents that averages your grades to determine how well your performed in all your classes.
