TermDefinition
Credit What a student earns for completing a class. Students receive 1 credit for a course that lasts a year, 1/2 a credit for a semester.
Course Another word for class.
Diploma Certificate that represents completion off a program of study.
Elective A course that is not required but can be chosen by students if they are interested in the class.
Graduation Requirements Standards that must be met in order to receive a diploma
Advanced Placement Classes Accelerated or more challenging classes
Freshman 9th grade year
Sophomore 10th grade year
Junior 11th grade year
Senior 12th grade year
Prerequisite A course that is required before another course can be taken

GPA Grading system that averages your grades to determine how well you preformed in all of your classes.
