High School Vocab

TermDefinition
Credit What a student earns for completing/passing a class. Students receive 1 credit for a course that last all year, 1/2 a credit for a semester long class. The kid was given credit for his class.
Course Another word for class I am taking a science course this year.
Diploma Certificate that represents completion of a program of study Have you earned your diploma yet?
Elective A course that is not required but can be chosen by students if they are interested in the class What electives did you choose to take this year?
Graduation requirements Standers that must be meet in order to receive a diploma Did you look over all the graduation requirements?
Advanced Placement Classes Accelerated and more challenging classes I have 3 advanced placement classes.
Freshmen 9th grade year I am a freshmen this year.
Sophomore 10th grade year I am a sophomore this year.
Junior 11th grade year I am a junior this year.
Senior 12th grade year I am a senior this year.
Prerequisite A course that is required before another course can be taken I have to do a prerequisite this year.
