TermDefinition
credit what a student earns for completing/passing a class. Students receive 1 credit for a course that lasts all year, 1/2 credit for a semester long class.
course another word for class.
diploma certificate that represents completion of a program of study.
elective a course that is not required but can be chosen by students if they are interested in the class.
graduation requirements standards that must be met in order to receive a diploma.
advances placement classes accelerated and more challenging classes
freshman 9th grade year
sophomore 10th grade year

senior 12th grade year
prerequisite a course that is required before another course can be taken.

gpa graduating system that represents that averages you grades to determine how well your performed in all your classes.
