Term | Definition |

Newtons first law of motion | states that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction until acted upon by an external force. |
Newtons second law of motion | states that the acceleration of person or object is proportional to the force applied to it and inversely proportional to its mass. |
Newtons third law of motion | the law of action-reaction, states that for every force you exert on an object, the object exerts an equal force back on you in the opposite direction. |
Open kinetic chain | refers to the correctly timed sequence of movements an individual uses to successfully perform a skill. |
Balance | relates to the ability of an object or person to maintain equilibrium. |
Center of gravity | is the concentration point of the earths gravitational pull on an individual. |
