Over-the-counter (OTC) Describes medication that can be purchased without a prescription nonlegend medications.
Physicians' Desk reference (PDR) One of the many reference books on medications; it complies and publishes select manufacturer- provided package inserts and prescribing information useful for healthprofessionals.
Pregnancy categories A system used by the FDA to describe five levels of assessment of fetal effects caused by a drug; a requried section of current prescripition drug labeling. First introduced in 1979 the system is being reevaluted.

(AAPT) American Association of Pharmacy Technicians
Competency The capability or proficency to perform a function
Confidentiality The practice of keeping privileged customer information from being disclosed without the customer's consent.
Coutinuing education (CE) Education beyond the basic technical education, usually required for license or certification renewal.
