| Cornea | The transparent tissue covering the anterior portion of the eye. |
| Miosis | Contraction of the pupil. |
| Mydriasis | Dilation of the pupil. |
| Ophthaimic | Pertaining to the eye. |
| Rods | Photoreceptors that respond to dim ligh and are reponsible for black and white color (night vision). |
| Acoustic nerve | The cranial nerve that controls the senses of hearing and equilibrium and eventually leads to the cerebellum and medulla. |
