Cardiometer An instrument used to measure the action of the heart.
Circulation The process of moving the blood in the veins and arteries throughout the body.
Constriction The process of drawing together, as in the narrowing of a vessel.
Claudication The process of lameness, limping; may result from inadequate blood supply to the muscles in the leg.
Cyanosis A dark blue condition of the skin and mucous membranes caused by oxygen deficiency.
Embolism A condition in which a blood clot obstucts a blood vessel; a moving clot.
Diastole The relaxation phase of the heart cycle during which the heart muscle relaxes and the heart chambers fill with blood.
Occlusion The process or state of being closed.
Palpitation Rapid throbbing or fluttering of the heart.
Oxygen A colorless, orderless and tasteless gas essential to respiration in animals.
