Term | Definition |
---|---|
Metals | A class of substances characterized by high electrical and thermal conductivity as well as by malleability, ductility, and high reflectivity of light. |
Nonmetals | The elements which easily form negative ions by accepting electrons and do not conduct heat and electricity |
Physical Property | Properties that can be measured or observed without changing the chemical nature of the substance. |
Luster | A property that describes how light is reflected on the surface of a mineral. It would be how shiny or dull a substance is. |
Ductile | The ability of a substance to be drawn or made into a wire. |
Malleable | The ability of a substance to be made into thin sheets. |
