Waves

QuestionAnswer
What are electromagnetic waves? Generated by an electric field and magnetic field, traveling in one direction.
What are micro waves? Form of electromagnetic magnetic radiation. They are used in radar and communications.
What are light waves? Composed of electric and magnetic fields, the fields vibrate at the right angle to the direction of movement of the wave.
What are sound waves? A wave of compression and rarefaction which sound is then emitted in air.
What are mechanical waves? Vibration going through an object traveling from one particle to another.
What is a longitudinal wave? The up and down oscillation movement in a wave.
What is a transverse wave? The push and pull oscillation movement in a wave.
What is Potential Energy? Stored Energy an object has because of it's position.
What is Kinetic Energy? Energy which is possessed from being in motion.
What is Thermal Energy? The energy responsible for temperature.
