| science fiction | made-up stories about the influence of real or imagined science on society or individuals |
| secondary sources | a text, video, etc. created later by someone who did not experience first-hand or participate in an event (e..g., scholarly book, journal article, historical video) |
| selections | items, such as a literary or musical text, chosen for reading or a performance |
