compare and contrast to use a type of organizational pattern in informational text in which the similarities and differences among two or more things are presented
complex sentences sentences containing one or more dependent clauses in addition to the main clause

conflict opposition of persons or forces that gives rise to the dramatic action in drama or fiction
conjunctions words or expressions that join sentences, clauses, phrases, or words

connotation the emotions or set of associations attached to a word that is implied rather than literal
