Win-Lose | high on courage, low on consideration. you can't win unless other people lose. |
Lose-win | Low on courage and high on consideration. Always playing the victim. |
Lose-Lose | Low on courage and consideration. if you can't win, nobody else is allowed to either/willing to lose to make sure the other person doesn't win. |
Win-Win or No Deal | Balancing courage and consideration. Being willing to walk away before someone else loses instead of taking advantage of their mistake. |
What is the main point of Module 12? | Making deposits of kindness and helpfulness in other peoples emotional bank accounts makes it easier to make new friends and build strong relationships. |
EBAs | Emotional bank account, think of your relationships as bank accounts |
Deposit | Doing something that is kind or helps the relationship. (find out what is a deposit is for the specific person because everyone is different.) |
Withdraw | Doing something negative that hurts the relationship. |
Small act of kindness | Deposit, smiling at people and showing kindness helps to build relationships |
Breaking a promise | Withdraw, you should always stay true to your word. |
Keeping Confidences/Being loyal to the absent | Deposit, they help to build the friendship up and keep it strong. Nobody wants their friend gossiping about them, and if someone else is defend your friend like you would want someone to defend you. |
Set clear expectations | Don't leave things where they can get confused. Set expectations then follow through on what was discussed. |
Apologize | Deposit, if your in the wrong, waiting to apologize can do irreparable damage to a relationship, don't let your pride empty your relationships EBA |
