|---|---|
| Static Electricity | The buildup of electrical charges on an object or material. Can be produced by rubbing objects together. |
| Electrical Discharge | The sudden movement of electric charges from one object to another. |
| Circuit | The path along which electric current flows. |
| Current Electricity or Electric Current | The flow of electrical charge |
| Series Circuit | A circuit in which the current flows in the same direction along a single path. |
| Parallel Circuit | A circuit in which the electric current flows through more than one path |
| Positive Charges | Repels or pushes away positive charges |
| Negative Charges | Repels or pushes away negative charges |
| Positive Charge + Negative Charge | Attract or Pull each other |
| Neutral Charge | Same number of positive & negative charges |
| Build Up | Something has more of one kind of charge |
| Closed Circuit | A complete unbroken circuit |
| Simple Circuit Parts | Power Source (Battery) |
| Open Circuit | A circuit with gaps. Current will not flow through it. |
| Switches | Turns current electricity on and off |
| Branches | The different paths that electrical currents flow through in a parallel circuit. |
| Resistance | The ability to oppose or slow electric current |
| Short Circuit | When a current flows through a path with little resistance. |
| Fuse | A device that helps prevent short circuits |
| Circuit Breaker | Switch that protects circuits |
