Lovaza Omega 3 fatty acids
Actions for Ezetimibe Blocks absorption of cholesterol from small intestine.
Uses With diet used to decrease elevated cholesterol. With statins to further decrease cholesterol. Not to be used with fibric acids. Does not increase triglycerides.
Pre med assessment Tris and cholesterol levels. Gastro alterations.
Admin 10mg tabs PO daily with or without meals.
Actions for Omega 3 fatty acids (Lovaza) Combo products EPA and DHA. / Fish oils. Reduces synthesis of tris in the liver, gives small elevations in HDL
Uses With diet, decreases elevated triglyceride levels. Can be used with statins w/o increasing side effects.
Need to know Use with caution in patients with allergy to fish, discontinue with no response after 2 months.
Serious adverse effects arm, back or jaw pain, chest pain, discomfort, labored breathing, fast or irregular heartbeat, nausea, sweating, wheezing
Minor adverse effects abdominal pain, bloating, bad taste in mouth, belching, weakness, diarrhea.
