Unit 3 Vocabulary Terms

TermDefinition
Decision Making Process The choice between two or more possibilities Ex: Im going to use the decision making process to decide whether or not to join band next year
Goals An objective that a person wants to obtain and works to achieve Ex: I set a goal of landing a double back flip by the end of the summer
Long term goal A goal that you expect to achieve in five or more years Ex: I set the long term goal of finishing college
Medium term goal A goal that you expect to achieve in 2 to 5 years I set the medium term goal of getting a better paying job
Personal values Personal standards by which one lives Ex: Someones personal values often coincide with there personality
Post secondary Education or training following high school Ex: For post secondary I went to a technical school
Resources Anything a person has or uses to reach a goal Ex: I used my resources to find the best solution to my problem
Short term goal A goal that you expect to achieve in 1 year or less Ex: I set the short term goal of replacing the intake manifold on my car
Tentative A decision or plan that can be changed Ex: I had a tentative plan for the near future
