Electricity
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Static Electricity | a build up of electric charges |
| Electric fields | the area around any charged particle |
| Conductor | Any material that easily allows the flow of electricity or electrons |
| Insulator | Any material that doesn't easily allow the flow of electricity or electrons |
| Electric current | flow of electric charge in a circuit measured in Amperes |
| Voltage difference | pressure that drives charge through an electrical circuit. it is the product of the current of a circuit multiplied by the resistance of the circuit |
| Resistance | a measure of the opposition to current flow in an electrical circuit, measured in ohms, symbolized by the Greek letter omega (Ω) |
| Ohm's Law | the relationship between voltage, current, and resistance, where current is inversely proportional to resistance if voltage remains constant |
