Henry Molaison (HM) What happened? He had an operation to remove his hippocampus due to it being the cause of epileptic seizures. After the operation, Henry suffered anterograde amnesia where he couldn't remember anything new but kept all his memories prior to the surgery.
Henry Molaison (HM) What can we figure out? That the hippocampus connects the short term and long term memory along with the ability to imagine the future.
