| complete sentences | a complete thought contains a subject and verb; begins with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark. |
| conventions | spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar to make writing understandable |
| editing | fixing mistakes in your writing Ex: spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure |
| paraphrase | to restate in other words |
| plagiarism | taking credit for someone else's writing or ideas |
| punctuation | the use of marks such as commas and periods in writing |
| revising | looking at one's paper through a fresh, or different perspective, to see what can be improved Ex: adding new thoughts, enhancing character development, clarify ideas |
