In order to find the exact distance from one place to another on a map you would use a: Map Scale
The number of degrees east or west from the prime meridian is called: Longitude
The number of degrees north or south from the equator is called: Latitude
If someone wants to figure out what the symbols on a map mean they would look at the: Map Key
The type of map that shows the boundaries of states and counties is a: Political map
The type of map that shows elevation is called a: Physical Map
If I wanted to figure out a route for a trip I am going to take I would use what kind of map? Road Map
If I wanted to know how far north or south I was I would use Latitude
If I wanted to know how far east or west I was I would use Longitude
North, South, East, and West are called The Cardinal Directions

If I wanted to find the capitals of different countries I would look at this type of map: Political Map
