A schizophrenic Spectrum broad specturn of congnitive and emotional dysfunctions>delusions (irrational beliefs)>hallucinations >disorganized speech and behavior>inappropriate emotions
Hallucinations sensory experiences in the absence of external events >ex. auditory (most common)>50-70% of people with Schizophrenia experience hllucinations, delusions or both
Positive Symptom active manifestations of abnormal behavior, or an excess of distortion of normal behavior, and include delusions and hallucinations> more obvious signs of psychosis
Negative Symptom deficits in normal behavior on such dementions as affect, speech, and motivation, tend to withdrawl>flat effect
Disorganized Symptom disrupted speech and behavior, disjointed delusions and hallucinations, and silly or flat effectsymptoms:rambling speech, erratic behavior, and inappropriate affect.
