Documenting Sources

When Should I?

QuestionAnswer
Summarize when You want to establish background or offer an overview of a topic
Paraphrase when You want to use your own voice to present information
Use Quotations when You want to add the power of an author's exact words
Credibility of a source means Credentials of the author
Accuracy of a source means Facts, statistics, or other information can be verified through other sources.
Reliability of a source means There is no particular view or bias
Relevance of a source means The information supports by hypothesis/thesis
Date of a source When was the information created? Does this matter in terms of meaningfulness of the subject?
Sources Behind the Text means The author used reliable, credible sources
Scope of the source means My hypothesis/thesis/question was addressed.
