What will you discover in module 4? How to balance courage and consideration and how to make deposits in other people's Emotional Bank Accounts.
What is the main point of Module 11: Balance Courage and Consideration? Think Win-Win is about building effective relationships with people by working for their benefit while working for yours.
What are the principles for this module? Courage and Consideration
What is "See" on the principles circle? It's possible to win in such a way that others can win too.
What is "Do" on the principles circle? Balance courage and consideration, make deposits in the Emotional Bank Account.
What is "Get" on the principles circle? More 'wins" in life and better relationships.
What is think Win-Win essential to? Your meaningful life, you can't win at life unless other people win.
What is "Win-Lose?" "I'm going to beat you no matter what." You're proud, you can't win unless others lose.
What is "Lose-Win?" "I always get stepped on." You're insecure, you're not brave enough to stand up for yourself and you get taken advantage of.
What is "Lose-Lose?" "If I'm going down, you're going down with me." If you can't win nobody wins, you seek revenge.
What is "Win-Win?" "We're going to win together." You're ready to walk away before someone loses- including yourself.
What does the bottom-right corner on the consideration and courage chart represent? High in consideration but low in courage, eager to please but reluctant to stand up for yourself.
What does the bottom-left corner on the consideration and courage chart represent? Low in both courage and consideration, you don't care if other people lose but you also don't stand up for yourself.
What does the upper-left corner on the consideration and courage chart represent? Low in consideration and high in courage, you go for win-lose every time.
What does the upper-right corner on the consideration and courage chart represent? High in both consideration and courage, you go for win-win or no deal.
What is the main point of Module 12: Make Deposits In Other People's Emotional Bank Accounts (EBA)? The key to making friends is to deposit acts of kindness and helpfulness in their Emotional Bank Accounts (and to avoid making withdrawals).
What is a deposit into an EBA? When you do something that helps the relationship is considered a deposit.
What is a withdrawal from an EBA? When you do something that hurts the relationship is considered a withdrawal.
What is an example of a deposit? (first) Find out what a deposit is for the other person, you won't know unless you find out.
What is an example of a deposit? (second) Do small acts of kindness: treat people with kindness.
What is an example of a deposit? (third) Keep promises: nothing bankrupts the EBA faster than to break a serious promise or to tell a lie.
What is an example of a deposit? (fourth) Keep confidences: when someone shares something with you in confidence, keep it that way.
What is an example of a deposit? (fifth) Be loyal to the absent: avoid gossiping or backbiting.
What is an example of a deposit? (sixth) Set clear expectations: don't leave things fuzzy and follow through with what's expected.
What is an example of a deposit? (seventh) Apologize: if you're in the wrong admit it and don't make excuses.
What is an example of a deposit? (eighth) Forgive: learn to forgive and forget so you don't hurt others the way you've been hurt.
What is the first rule for making deposits in the Emotional Bank Account? A deposit is only a deposit if the other person sees it as a deposit.
What is the second rule for making deposits in the Emotional Bank Account? It can take one or more deposits to make up for one withdrawal.
