Think Win-Win

QuestionAnswer
Win-Lose You're always trying to get ahead of others or be better than other people. You're proud. You can't win unless other people loose.
Lose-Win You're insecure. Your'e not brave enough to stick up for yourself.
Lose-Lose If you can't win, nobody wins. You get revenge.
Win Students with this paradigm think only of themselves and not others.
Pyrrhic Victories A victory where the winner turns out to also be a loser.
Scarcity The belief that the world is like a pie and there is only so much of it to go around.
Abundance The belief there is plenty to go around for everybody. That person believes the "pie" can grow forever.
Win-Win or No Deal I want everyone to win. There's enough to go around for everybody. If you can't win, then forget about it.
What is a deposit for the other person? What you think is a deposit for the other person may in fact be a withdrawal in his or her mind. You won't know unless you find out.
What are small acts of kindness? Treat a people with kindness, give them a good compliment be compassionate.
What affect does keeping your promise? Important to make good on your word and be very careful before using the words " I promise" or "I commit."
Definition of being loyal? Keep confidences. When someone shares something with you in confidence, keep it that way. Be loyal to the absent. Avoid gossiping.
Don't leave things fuzzy especially with roommates what does this mean? Set clear expectations
Apologize If your in the wrong, admit it: Don't wait and don't make excuses
Give Feedback Sincere, honest feedback is a deposit if it's done with tact, so let people know how you feel and what a win is for you. Don't hide things from people.
Forgive Learn to forgive and forget so that you don't keep turning yourself the way you were hurt.
