Gravity | attractive force that anything with mass possesses |
magnetism | Force both a push and a pull produced by motion of electric charge |
electromagnet | soft metal core wrapped by a coil. Electricity through the coil produces a magnet |
magnetic field | A region in which a magnetic force exists |
mass | the amount of matter in an object |
weight | the force of gravity exerted on an object |
Galileo | When dropped all objects accelerate at the same rate neglecting air resistance |
Aristotle | Heavier objects will accelerate faster when dropped |

gibbous moon | more than half of the visible moon appears illuminated |
new moon | The moon appears completely dark |
crescent moon | less than half of the visible moon appears illuminated |
full moon | the whole moon appears illuminated |
orbit | path of an object around a star planet or moon |
solar eclipse | sunlight to the earth is blocked or partially blocked by the moon |
lunar eclipse | sunlight to the moon is blocked or partially blocked by the Earth |
