| Gravity | attractive force that anything with mass possesses |
| magnetism | Force both a push and a pull produced by motion of electric charge |
| electromagnet | soft metal core wrapped by a coil. Electricity through the coil produces a magnet |
| magnetic field | A region in which a magnetic force exists |
| mass | the amount of matter in an object |
| weight | the force of gravity exerted on an object |
| Galileo | When dropped all objects accelerate at the same rate neglecting air resistance |
| Aristotle | Heavier objects will accelerate faster when dropped |

| gibbous moon | more than half of the visible moon appears illuminated |
| new moon | The moon appears completely dark |
| crescent moon | less than half of the visible moon appears illuminated |
| full moon | the whole moon appears illuminated |
| orbit | path of an object around a star planet or moon |
| solar eclipse | sunlight to the earth is blocked or partially blocked by the moon |
