QuestionAnswer
antitussive A drug that can decrease the coughing reflex of the central nervous system.
Asthma A condition in which narrowing of the airways impedes breathing.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease A disease process in which the lungs have decreased ability for gas exchange; also known as emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
Cough reflex Response of the body to clear air passage of foreign substances and mucus by a forceful expiration.
