| Mountain | An elevated area that is higher than the surrounding land. |
| River | Rivers are bodies of moving fresh water. |
| Mountain range | A group of mountains. |
| Relief | The combination of landscape features in an area of land. |
| Peninsula | An area of land surrounded by water on all sides except one. |
| Watershed | When river basins formed by several rivers flow into the same sea or ocean. |
| River basin | The territory a river runs through and the tributaries that flow into it form a river basin |
| Plateau | A flat area of high land. |
| Cape | An area of land that extends into the sea. |
| Gulf | A large area of sea that extends into the land. |
| Peak | The highest part of a mountain. |
| Delta | When a river accumulates a great amount of sediment as it flows in its mouth. |
| Estuary | When the sidements do not accumulate and the mouth of the river becomes larger. |
| Island | An area of land surrounded by water. |
| Valley | An area of low land between mountains. |
| Hill | A low natural elevation of land. |
| Isthmus | An area of land that connects a peninsula to the coast. |
| Tributary | Is a river that flows into a larger river. |
| Flood | To cover a dry area with water. |
| Water divide | The imaginary line that separates two watersheds. |
