Vocabulary and Definition

Slope The slope of a line is a measure of its steepness
What is "m" in y=mx + b m = slope
What is "b" in Y=mx + b b = y-intercept - on the y-axis coordinate (0,3) (example)
Positive Slope a line left to right moving upward - uphill
Negative Slope a line left to right moving downward - downhill
Undefined a line is vertical
0 - slope a line is horizontal

Unit Rate cost for one
Rate of Change Slope - is a ratio of the amount of change in the output to the amount of change in the input.
Proportional Relationship Equation y=3x
