energy the ability to do work ( moving an object ) and /or to cause changes in matter
conversion to change one form of energy into another form of energy
potential energy energy an object has because of its position or condition
kinetic energy energy of motion
force a push or pull that starts an object to move , speed up , slow down , change directions, or stop
gravity a force that pulls objects toward the center of the earth
friction a force that slows down or stops objects because of the rubbing against each other
law of inertia an object at rest will remain at rest, an object in motion will remain in motion until a Force acts on it
heat energy that moves between objects at different temperatures- warmer energy to cooler energy objects
thermal energy the measure of the kinetic energy ( moving particles/ molecules) in a substance, faster movement more energy and heat energy
chemical energy energy that can be released because of a reaction between two or more substances
electrical energy a form of energy that come from a flow or current of electricity
mechanical energy the energy an object has because it can move or is moving
conductor a material that allow heat or electricity to move through it easily
insulator a material that does not allow heat or electricity to move through it easily
