Electricity | energy that flows through circuits and can produce heat, light, motion and sound |
energy | the ability to do work |
heat | observable evidence of thermal energy |
light source | anything that radiates light such as the sun a light bulb or a flame |
engineer | a scientist who designs ways to accomplish a goal or solve a problem |
coil | a series of loops |
technology | a modification of natural materials or processes done to satisfy human needs or desires |
filament | the materials in light bulb (usually a thin wire) that makes light when heated by an electric current |
light bulb | a filament held by two wires and surrounded by a clear glass globe |
light | visible evidence or energy |
electric current | the flow of electricity through a conductor |
wires | a metal or other solid substance through which electric current moves |
circut | a pathway for the flow of electricity to communicate |
contact point | the place on a component where connections are made to allow electricity to flow |
motors | a device that produces motion from electricity |
work | to use force to move objects to achieve another outcome |
motion | a change in the position or an object or system |
sound | observable evidence of energy |
generator | a device that produces electricity from motion |
energy source | a place where energy comes from such as batteries, fossils, the sun and objects in motion |
battery | a source of electricity created from stored chemical energy |
