positive sz- hallucinations, delusion, and thought disorder
Schizophrenia... *split btw intellectual and emotional
there are disturbances in... content of thought, form of thought, emotion, perception, violition, movement
content of thought delusions (false beliefs): what are they thinking about. ex. might believe that people can listen to their private thoughts or the gov is monotering them through the sprinkler systems, etc.
form of thought incoherent disconnected disorganized thinking. they will talk to you about a string of ideas but have no idea what is going on (positive symptom)
emotion disturbance in emotion. can be (+) or (-) but mostly (-). flattened, nothing bumps them, nothing gives them joy..ex sz sees someone get hurt they laugh..innapropriate
perception presence of hallulicanitions. classic is hearing voices. male or female might be someone accusing them of doing bad. sz who is hearing voices you find activity in the lobe for language not auditory
voilition goal directed behavior. ask what they want to do and they have no idea...no goals
movement unusual movement patterns or have absence of movement
kinds of sz paranoid, disorganized, catatonic, undifferentiated
negative sz symptoms include weak emotions, speech, and social contact
