Circulatory System Vocab

Arteries all the blood vessels that have muscular linings and carry blood away from the Heart
Pulmonary Veins these carry oxygenated blood from the lungs back to to the heart
Vena Cava Large vein that carries blood from various areas of the body to the heart
Aorta large artery where blood leaves the heart and travels to the rest of the body
Capillaries Small vessels where blood exchanges various materials with cells
veins all the blood vessels that carry blood to the heart
Pulmonary Circulation trip blood takes from the heart to the lungs and back
Pulmonary Arteries these carry oxygen-poor blood from the heart to the lungs
Right Atrium chamber where blood first enters the heart
Left Ventricle last chamber blood enters before going to the body
Heart Muscular organ that pumps blood
