process of repacking medication requires strict adherence to pharmaceautical manufacturer's recommendations to maintain the integrity of the product
first guideline for repackaging selection the material must protect the medication from the elements, i.e. light, moisture, heat, etc
second guideline for repackaging selection material must be of high quality as to not deteriorate during the shelf-life of the repackaged medication
third guideline for repackaging selection the material should not interact with the medication
fourth guideline for repackaging selection the material should be easy to open
fifth guideline for repackaging selection the material should allow for ease of inspections (visual by the pharmacist)
USP expiration date standard change single unit bingo-cards may now be labeled with an expiration date similar to any other product dispensed from the pharmacy - the expiration date shall not be later than the expiration date of the manufacturer's container or one year from the date the drug is dispensed, whichever is earlier
