Pinckney's Treaty An agreement between Spain and United States that fixed the southern boundary of the United States at 31 North Latitude.
Napoleon Bonaparte Frenchman that negotiated deal with Jefferson to see the land owned by the French to the Americans for 15 million. (known as Louisiana Purchase)
Thomas Jefferson President of United States & negotiated Louisiana Purchase with Napoleon. He hired Lewis and Clark to explore the huge area of land known as Louisiana.
Oath A promise
Allegiance Loyalty to a person, group or cause
Acadians French speaking, Roman Catholic religion, farmers, Anti-British, known as Cajuns, settled in the swamps and prairies of Louisiana.
