Unit 4 Vocabulary Part 1 (words 1-6)

TermDefinition
Tea Act The British made the colonists pay taxes on tea.
Stamp Act The British made the colonists pay taxes on all papers and legal documents.
Quartering Act The act stated that colonists had to agree to give British troops food and let them stay in their homes.
Boston Tea Party Protest against taxes placed on tea.
Tariff Tax to be paid on particular class of imports or exports.
Treaty An agreement between two countries.
