| motion | any change from one positon to another |
| balanced force | When forces acting on an object are equal |
| Unbalanced force | When forces acting on an object are not the same. |
| position | a certain place |
| force | a push or a pull |
| speedometer | an instrument used to measure speed |
| push | press against in order to move away |
| pull | use force to cause something to move after itself |
| kilometers per hour | metric unit used to represent speed |
| miles per hour | customary unit used to represent speed |
| friction | a force that resist motion between two bodies in contact |
| inertia | The tendency of an object to resist a change in its state of motion. |
| Gravity | A force that pulls something toward earth. |
| velocity | The speed and direction of travel of an object. |
| acceleration | A change in velocity. |
| simple machine | devices with few moving parts that make work easier to do. |
| work | Using force to move an object through a distance. |
| lever | a simple machine that has a bar that rest on a fulcrum. |
| wheel and axle | A simple machine that has a wheel that rotates around an axle. |
| Pulley | A simple machine with a wheel with a groove in the rim that has a rope. |
| incline plane | A simple machine that is flat and slanted. |
| wedge | An incline plane that is used to separate things. |
| Screws | An incline plane wraped around a cylinder. |
| fulcrum | A pivot point on a lever. |
| resistance arm | A part of a lever that produces the lift. |
| effort arm | A part of a lever that you apply the force. |
| momentum | The force or speed of a moving object. |
| kinetic energy | Energy of motion |
| potential energy | Stored energy |
