Abbreviations & Definitions

TermDefinition
ADA Americans with Disabilities Act Provides people with disabilities equal treatment and no discrimination. Broken into four main sections called titles.
ADA Title 1 Employment -employers must make reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities
ADA Title 2 Public Transportation & Entites -places of public accommodation must be accessible
ADA Title 3 Public Accommodations & Commercial Facilities -people with disabilities must have equal access to all local and state programs, services, and activities.
ADA Title 4 Telecommunications -provides people with hearing and speech disabilities access to telecommunication devices and services.
